Mission: deliver consistent, LowDown branded harm reduction booths to any promoter, no matter where they’re located
The LowDown, Inc. wants to bring our approach to harm reduction outreach everywhere. However, it is simply impossible to have our volunteers at every single event across the country without inducing massive burnout. In order to still support our communities while respecting the boundaries of our amazing volunteers, we have created a promoter partnership program to offload some of the responsibility that goes into creating our booths.
Participating promoters will be asked to pay a one-time initial fee (can be written off as a 501(c)3 donation). This will cover the table, signage, harm reduction materials, decorations and storage, based on tier chosen (see "The Details" tab below). The promoter will be responsible for the transportation and storage of these materials once the materials are in their possession. Events with LowDown tables are also required to have a free water option and implement an "Ask for Angela" (or similar) policy. LowDown volunteers can be assigned to an event, as long as requests for volunteers are made one month before an event.
After the initial fee, recurring donations will be based on the amount of supplies used, donations collected from a specific community, etc. We will also help connect interested promoters with public health organizations in their hometowns in order to create more community-oriented LowDown booths.
The LowDown will continue to provide its services for free whenever possible, especially in cities where we already have an established volunteer base. This program is our way to expand our reach beyond our current capacity, while sharing some of the physical and financial burden of providing free harm reduction with the promoters who believe in our mission.
To increase accessibility to our services, we have created donation tiers based on the included
i. Tier 1 - $200 donation. Includes 6’ table, storage bin, lamp
ii. Tier 2 - $150 donation. Includes storage bin, lamp
iii. Tier 3 - $100 donation. Basic package

The LowDown encourages local participation in our services. We will work with interested community members to improve and expand on the basic LowDown promoter packages through optional training modules and mentorship. We also include promotional materials for other harm reduction organizations to further our mission of "community-based harm reduction". We can also provide wholesale accounts to promoters for certain restock items, such as fentanyl test strips, to streamline the restock process and get harm reduction materials into communities faster.
In addition to the harm reduction materials and education, the LowDown will also assist our partners with the promotion of their events. The LowDown logo may be used on marketing materials for events thrown by our partner organizations, and we will promote these events through our social media channels and other official communications.
This is only the beginning for the LowDown's promoter partnership program. We are always looking for suggestions, improvements, and help. Please email us contact.us@getlowdown.info with any questions, concerns, or just to say hi. We are in this for the community and want to keep your people safe.
